Went to my season long rock and got no bites for the first time. Had great readings of piles of fish but no bite. This was 21 to 27 feet. Moved offshore to a ledge that went 49 to 61 feet with the fish being stacked against the deep end of the ledge. Wind againsty tide was a pain in the ass but when we swung over the edge we got life. Got all white chins today which is unusual and two nice 5 lb keepers but not more than 20 fish for the day. The western sound is over for blacks. Tried for herring in the AM but nada. Herring livelineing still to come.

The truth hurts....western sound over for shallow water blackfish. But what a great year it was. Can't wait until next year.

I heard my young friends found lots of life and lots of tog today off Mamaroneck, but the tide began ripping making it difficult to fish. It ain't over on the tog front yet. Move to deeper water.
