Rest in peace Captain Bird you were one of the best. I have nothing but a great memory with this guy, as up until today I have not been able to beat the 12.6 lbs. Fluke caught on his boat when I missed a trip on the Sea Otter as a result of a Deer accident on 27. I may be wrong but I believe that his son Neil was working the deck that day and was expertly on the net when I caught what I believe was the bottom until it started to move and turned out to be a fish of a lifetime. Thank you sir, you will live on in my memory forever, rest in peace and a big OHYEA in celebration of your life on the water, thanks you for your life among us and goodbye.

If you do not measure your fish, the state will provide a man with a gun to do it for you.

I fished with the Flying Cloud for many years with my son and daughter.. When my son was around 4 he called his Jazz" Breakfast Music" It was always a pleasure fishing with him and Neil aka Junior.. This is a tremendous loss, Im so sad to see him go. There is a history there and a historical perspective on fishing that will be missed. RIP ..

Capt. Fred E. Bird

Rest in Peace Capt. Fred. You and Neil always took such good care of my brother John who passed away in April. You are all fishing in heaven. Sincere condolences to the family and to Neil.
