Sorry everyone for a late report but i thought this was worth sharing. Last week I ran down the beach about 7 miles east and ran into my good friend Capt. Tommy Cornicelli (the spot man) on a small bunker school getting crushed by bass. The bass had the school pined up against the beach, just awesome to watch. We were able to stick with the school and land fish up to 20+ pounds but Capt. Tom landed this beautiful 45#er on a live bunker.
These bunker schools are just awesome if you can find them. Here are the pictures Capt. Tom sent me of the fish he landed that day.
I fished with "Spotman" for quite some time mostly during Montauk';s fall run and for inshore fishing he is hard to beat after all he is a 5 time IGFA world record holder and an absolute professional- by the way for those who prefer offshore try giving spot or croaker a try -I've had great results!
