Hi all

I was looking for help on water temperatures. I'm based out of Jones Inlet where I'm seeing water temps right around 50-52 degrees still. My daughter is doing a junior triathlon near the east islip marina on June 5th and I'm guessing I'll need to get her a wetsuit. Since that's the great south bay, I'm assuming the water temps will heat up much quicker than around Jones Inlet so I'm wondering if anyone has recent temperature readings from that area.

Thanks very much for your help

-Scott

Being a Triathlete myself, I would look into getting a wetsuit for her. Although it's shallow water, I don't think it's going to warm up that much, especially if recent air temperature trends persist. The Tri is only 3 weeks away.

My 10 and 12-year daughters bailed on doing the East Islip Triathlon for your exact concerns. Good luck to you and your daughter. up
