Had a real nice day on the Celtic Quest today (Wednesday). I came up short of my limit, but it was my first time jigging cod and the more experienced guys limited. We had about half of the fish in the dark on bait. Then we drifted and jigged when the sun came up. The larger fish were caught on the jigs. Conrgrats to Desi on his new boat. The heated cabin was very comfortable, and I ended up sleeping all the way out to the grounds and all the way back. The booth style seating with tables made it very easy to put your head down and fall asleep. I like the 1 a.m. departure time and the way it covers the possibilities of a dark or daylight bite. It's also just more convenient and helped beat the hamptons traffic on the way home. The mates were superb today, and Captain Paul worked his tail off and kept us out an extra hour so we could put some more in the coolers. Great job all around.
