Hit the beach at around 9PM and caught the bottom of outgoing. Tossed a Hopkins with a bucktail for a little while - first along the beach, then off the jetty - nothing. Wasn't feeling too confident. Switched to a beautiful white MX plug - a metal-lipped swimmer - and finally got a hit. What a difference a fish makes. Dropped a fish that was foul hooked, and was grateful for the action. About 15 minutes late (around 11:00) things started to happen. No real size, but I was catching 24-30 inch fish on about every second or third cast. Fifteen fish and about one hour later, the bite dropped off. Finished with 18 fish, at least three of them keepers. Most were pretty close. Lots of fun.

9PM. a Hopkins is a flat, dimpled tin that comes with a variety of tails - mine had feathers. The white swimming lure (about 12-18 inches below the surface) under the bright moon works great. Other guys I know are using white tubes around the full moon and doing very well with them.
A little cold, wind, and rain and everybody quit. I'm sure it was packed on Wednesday night, but I was the only one there (east side of Inlet) Thursday night.
