After reading all the Hoopla about the fluke fishing around Nantucket Shoals over the years, it was finally time to leave Ambrose Channel and venture up to Hyannis, MA.

Special thank you to KIL SONG for introducing me to Capt. Jimmy Koutalakis of ON TIME Sport Fishing at the Fred Hall Show last March. (AKA- JIMMY THE GREEK)...

My group of 6 anglers fished with Capt. Jimmy for 3 days earlier this week. According to Capt. Jimmy, he said the fishing was on the slow side!!!!! It was by far and away the best fluke fishing our group ever experienced.

In three days our group landed 5 fluke in excess of 10 lbs. My dad and I both had our personal best fluke, at 10 lbs and the other scratching close to 12lbs on the Boga Grip Scale.. Mike G busted the trip open on day # 1 with a doormat scratching a little over 10lbs... Pat B on Day # 2 led with one scratching close to 11 lbs on the Boga.. and on Day # 3, I had my PB, with Mike G at the closing bell with another Nantucket Doormat that was also scratching the 12 lb mark on the Boga Scale.

EPIC is how i would describe this trip. In 3 days, we had close to 30 fluke that were between the 6 lb to 9 lb range... and majority of all the other fluke were easily over 4lbs... By the end of day # 1, landing 5 to 7 lb fluke were common place..

OH, OH, OH- and let's not forget the by catch of Sea Bass every day, with limits to near limits of sea bass every day. Offshore jumbo sea bass!! multiple double headers..

No snags the entire trip, only lost bucktails to some gator bluefish.

Berkley GULP 6in Grubs and Bucktail combo's absolutely destroyed the fish.. along with Capt. Jimmy putting live squid in the boat, which were immediately sent back down on bait rigs... It was silly, in seconds you hooked up.

Black Hole Rods- Challenger Bank 731 M and 731 L worked overtime and did not upset.

Thank you Capt. Jimmy for delivering upon my request of catching a Double Digit fluke!! The hardest 62 year young captain that I ever had the pleasure of fishing alongside..
