We fished with my friend James on the salty goat out of Key West, FL. My friend Greg the mate gave me a call and told me they were schooled up and they crushed them. we steamed 12 mi into the gulf and dropped in 40 ft. At first. Mostly sm lanes came up but within 15 min a school of nice 10 to 16 in fish were under the boat. I looked at the machine and they were stacked up 10 foot off the bottom. we fished with our light spinning rods and had nonstop action. I caught a 20 inch 4.8 lb lane to win the pool and also the largest ever caught on the boat. Gotta get lucky sometime!!! A few guys got spooled probably big grouper and a few lg heads came up from shark attacks. Again, mate Greg was awesome very fishy and bait was excellent. we took our fish to the hog fish grill on stock is and they cook some mean snappa. Gonna investigate some bridge fishing in lower keys thus week. Just bought a new custom rod and wanna try and chum up a 200 lb bull shark. Lots around

If anyone is fishing in or around key west and has room for me on a trip please contact me at 516-885-1932 or Thanks

PS – We are now booking charters in Montauk for 1-12 people starting in April. We will be bottom fishing for spring cod, blackfish, etc.
