Did another inshore trip on Sunday, July 8th with my good friend John Cukro and his son Ian from NY. Two very experienced anglers who did a great job keeping swarms of dogs off the jigs and managed a solid bakers dozen of "brown gold" for the cooler.  All fish were on the smaller side but still great table fare.  Regardless of some decent catching, we still had to contend with more dogs than I have seen in many years....and they are not just in one place...they are everywhere.  On the late day tide change we moved further inside and hammered some seriously big Knothead Seabass on light tackle.  Limited out within 30 minutes and we left them biting.  Great trip for sure and the weather was perfect.  Also to note....tons of whales sighted today and saw many huge schools of sand-eels on virtually every drop.  Also marked some tuna in one area...not small one's either...giants and something I have not seen in many years in our local RI waters...time to break-out the 130 lb gear that has been in retirement for years...more to come!!!
