Could someone kindly PM me with suggestions on a few good spots along the Hudson near Poughkeepsie. I am mostly a C&R fisherman who moved up to this area from Long Island and need info on access points for surf striper fishing. Fishing the lakes and ponds up here just isn't satisfying my hunger for a good fight, and an occasional tasty keeper to put on the grill. Also wouldn't mind travelling a little for a decent spot or to hook up with a fishing buddy, surf or boat.

Tight lines, Guys and Girls!!!

You are pretty way up there, but if you got a State Park to the west of you..Franny Reese. You got to cross the Hudson. Not sure what the regs are or hours are for fishing there, but from a map it looks like its possible. If you don't mind going further south like maybe an hour and a half, you got Peekskill area, Bear Mtn, and then Croton. Tight Lines and good luck!

Follow the metro north track and there’s a whole bunch of access to Hudson River. Idk where exactly is close to u. Try new Hamburg train station for parking and easy access
