Went out herring fishing again today 12-06-2017 to A DIFFERENT SPOT. Got there at 10 am and man it was a slaughter once again. I kept 20 for myself and gave this guy around 60 as I had my fill at 20. Caught my 20 in under half hour and after sitting in my car warming up some lol I went back and doing the catch and release thing until a friendly gentleman asked if he can get them so I caught 60 for him and he was good. When you do good, good follows right? Thanks for reading my report guys and please enjoy another 2017 in review video and this time I'm hoping I DIDN'T BURN NO ONE'S SPOT lol. Well all keep warm and tight lines.

No limit and no season. They come in around November when it's cold and from what I heard they've been bighting for the past 2 and a half weeks now.

Hey D, I heard you've caught a lot of crap from some of these jerks about spot burning. Really Really Here's how I look at it, if it's my spot and I want to tell the world about it, tough Sh** and I always tell where I fish any way, the last time I threw a fish back, fish swim. Great report, nice fish, now TELL ME WHERE IT IS !!!! ToungueToungueToungue
How are the kids doing and did they go with you.
Take care !!!

Good morning George We're great thanks for asking. I didn't let them get to me George as I never put a SPECIFIC Street or location in my report. Well the kids were in school so they couldn't as they have to put their education first. Was hoping to take them out Saturday but now I'm hearing about 2" of snow on the news lol so it might be more of a pot of chicken soup at home kind of day for us lol. Saturday will also be my 41st birthday so I'll make that soup and sip on some E&J brandy and relax in the warmth of my house with the kids. Keep warm, stay safe and tight lines George.

Magnolia Pier use to be a pretty good spot, not sure how it is any longer. You have a GREAT BIRTHDAY with your kids !!!!! Saturday if it snows or not I will be cleaning Lloyd's reels for him and getting them ready for next season, then I will start on my stuff. Have to check all my hooks, sharpen them up, check leaders for wear, then my reels, my sticks have all been cleaned and lubed.

Magnolia pier is still an awesome pier for the herrings as I fished there a few times last year. Haven't been this year yet. Thanks George we sure will enjoy Saturday the kids and I. I live for them now so we have to make the best of everything. All our rods and reels have already been cleaned up and greased for next season, will be adding some new reels to our arsenal lol. Over the winter we will be tying new rigs, making new sinkers and snag hooks. Still have about 500 lbs of lead in the basement to melt along with 2 five gallon buckets of 3oz bank sinkers. Will be making long and short shank 10/0 snag hooks. Hey George we have a bag with I think is either 2 or 3oz unpainted jigheads, about 20+ I think that we made and never used. If you want I can give them to you and Capt Mojoe to split if you guys have use for them. I am buying a smaller new mold as I'm more comfortable with the 1 1/2oz jigheads. Pm me and let me know if you guys would like them and if so all you have to do is paint them or use them as is. Thank you.

What kind of herring are these? I saw on the NYS DEC website that bluebacks and alewives are off limits south of the GWB. I'm just curious because I'd like to catch some herring to smoke and I don't want to be going after the wrong ones.

I believe they're the Atlantic Herring and there's no restrictions on keeping them. Keep warm, stay safe, tight lines and good luck buddy.
