Hit the ocean front this time around. Fished 5:30-8 am today. Low tide at 5:15, 2-4 ft surf, clear skies, water a bit stained, slight south breeze, wind and tide working together, good conditions. Started on the open beach as I usually do at low tide. Tried the sides of structure for nothing. Walked east and casted along the way. Felt a couple of taps on the bucktail then switched to a 4" rubber shad and BAM! a 10" rat. Good my first fish of 2013.
Moved to the jetties as the tide brought some water around them. Caught 4 more on the second jetty from 10-22 inches. Moved to the next jetty and caught another. 3 fish were on 1oz bucktail and 2 were rubber shad. 4 fish were on the right side of the jetty and 1 on the left.
