About the Cover:

On our cover this month is our Northern New Jersey field editor Richard Pannone showing us a nice early season striper caught off the New Jersey shoreline of Raritan Bay. The striper season gets an early start in New Jersey and Raritan Bay's New Jersey side religiously sees the first of the action each year. Rich has let us know that the fish have been biting since the March 1 opener so take a peek at Rich's feature in this publication entitled "Spring Stripers off Raritan Bay's Shores" for some great tips on where and how to get them off terra firma. This will get you primed for New York's April 15th striped bass opener too, I guarantee it.

For those of you who fish for stripers in Raritan Bay from a boat, we have another treat for you. Field editor and Charter Captain Steve Byrne has written a great feature entitled Raritan Bay-Season by Season. It is probably one of the most informative pieces ever written on where, when and how to fish for stripers and many other of your favorite species in this popular body of water that is shared by both New York and New Jersey.

Good luck and good fishing!
