RECENT FIELD EDITOR REPORTS

When you make a serious allegation, you had best be ready to support it. We continue with the Riverhead Sewage Treatment Plant and its contribution to the continued pollution of the Peconic River
I love everything about spring in South Jersey. The sights, smells and sounds are nothing short of heavenly
If you have been following my monthly reports, you know that Donna and I are addressing serious water-quality matters referencing both the upper and lower regions of the Peconic River. The Peconic River is the longest river on Long Island, originating close to Brookhaven National Laboratory, flowing easterly toward several bays: Reeves Bay, Flanders Bay, Great Peconic Bay, Little Peconic Bay, and beyond
We've got plenty of stripers coming to town these days…the migration has been moving up from New York waters and the schoolies are arriving daily. And they're moving into places like Bass River, Waquoit Bay, South Cape Beach and many of the estuaries along the Cape's south shore
The new-for-2016 WX Boss with Matte Black frame and Polarized Venice Gold Mirror lenses is a pair of sunglasses that delivers the whole package for outdoor enthusiasts…stylish good looks, advanced glare-cutting vision and the proven protection that Wiley X is known for around the world. This powerful combination of features makes this new Climate Control model an ideal choice for boating and fishing, target shooting, or anytime you're outdoors in a highly reflective environment
South Jersey fishing action is off the charts! Striped bass, big bluefish, drumfish, tiderunner weakfish and summer flounder are here and they're hungry! While largemouth bass, chain pickerel, and truckloads of rainbow trout are making headlines at many of our local freshwater venues. Whether you choose saltwater or sweetwater is up to you, but it's time to get out there - fishing in South Jersey is as good as it gets! From the rivers to the bays and along the beachfront, striped bass have us surrounded! Delaware River anglers reported one of the best spring striper runs in years, with numbers of quality fish taken on bait and plugs
Lots of excitement locally as Cape anglers get ready for the arrival of striped bass migrating in from the Hudson River, Chesapeake Bay and elsewhere but hunters are equally excited at the opening of the annual spring turkey hunt at the Cape Cod National Seashore (CCNS) which began on Monday, April 25. This is the fifth season for the hunt, according to a CCNS release
Can you believe we had a few inches of snow on the ground just a week ago? Fortunately, last Saturday's snowfall didn't have a lasting effect on the fishing action. Since the snowfall, the Delaware River striped bass bite exploded, many of our freshwater ponds and lakes were stocked with hundreds of rainbow trout, largemouth bass put on the feedbag and the saltwater action is picking up as the season's first bluefish, weakfish, and summer flounder were reported this week
The word is out; the stripers are in!Thursday morning, a couple of island locals found a school of striped bass feeding on spearing in the Martha's Vineyard surf. They said birds were working over the fish, schools of herring moving through, and hungry stripers covered in sea lice
It may be a bit early for striper action but that doesn't mean nothing's happening locally. For instance:The annual Fisherman's Yard Sale is set for Saturday, April 16 at the Riverway Lobster House in South Yarmouth
