Saltwater Fishing Discussion Board Including Inshore Fishing, Offshore Fishing, Saltwater Fly Fishing and Kayak Fishing

Hi everyone,

New to Northeast, but have been fishing Long Island since my first snapper pole as a kid. Mainly Wading River area. Moved to Norwalk area and am looking for places to go crabbing. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

If you do a search on the boards for blue claws /crabbing you find lots of info on the subject

I dont know how they are doing on the North shore but I was getting some nice ones on the south shore. Any of the town docks should serve you well.

Do you have a boat or are you crabbing from shore? BTW a bunch of us are getting together for dinner tomorrow night at Hurricane's Restaurant in Norwalk. See the thread in the lounge for details.

They're HUGE!!!!

I've seen blue crabs hanging onto pillars at several docks here in the Western Sound. I can tell that these are serious predators, and I wouldn't dare put my finger anywhere near those claws! I also watched a national geographic special where a blue crab in the Florida keys killed and ate a hatchling American Crocodile! Freaky!
