I was just reading on another board about spiral wrappable roller guides.
Pretty interesting. They look rather crude to me and they are the first in existance. I would definitly give them a year before I would put them on a rod. One good thing is they are only a few bucks more than a standard roller set.
I am not sure if I am allowed to post other web sites on here. If you cant find the site EM me.

It wouldn't be this one, would it?:

Allcoast Rodbuilding Board

We're pretty easy around here on other site web addresses and hyper-linking.

I know certain other popular sites strictly prohibit it - just silly envy I think . . . George, the big Kahuna round these parts isn't the insecure type.

Hi,

The purpose of this Forum is for folks to be able to ask questions and get answers. We are very fortunate in that the people who respond share their vast knowledge with the rest of us.

This sharing of info also applies to web sites, companies with products we need or can use, custom rods builders that are used by people in different localities or States or do speciality work.

We as posters or moderators do not own this site, We share it together thanks to the owners.

I have been aware of these roller guides for over a year. As Lep posted they were talked about on the Allcoast board. I had heard other tales which were probably just that, a tale. Recently I read that they are being made. You can be sure the West Coast guys are trying them. They are ahead of us in some things.

I am trying to go to the RodCrafter Pacific North West Regional Seminar in April. I will try to get the latest info from those guys out there.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Those are well finished production guides, and I like their "cosmetics". The handmade prototypes were certainly rough looking. I was nursing a feeble hope that a production set would retail for under a hundred. Oh well. Those would probably match nicely with the upcoming GF7460H or the phantom GF760XH which doesn't really exist. Slap the as of yet unreleased Avet 50W on it, and you have the ultimate stand up rig of the 21st century Smile.

I wander if the transition guides are tall enough to clear a fat glass blank like 6460XXH...

Well if you ever do happen to see any porn-type links posted on this site, you must immediately report it to me so that I can check it out.

Errr, I mean delete it immediately.

There were a few sets made last year, as a prototype - so it's already been somewhat tested.

My name is on there, I'll put them on either my GUSA Predator, or Calstar 765M paired up with a Tiagara 30 LWS. My first Tuna sure will be expensive.

The only ones I saw in the flesh were the very first aluminum framed prototypes on Petrochem's rod. I forget if it was 765M or ML. Certainly made for a distinctly different looking rod.

Billy, if you're going to plunk down $120.00 for the guides, might as well go all out and get the Pred. Put some pics up on this board so we can all drool.

FW - thanks for spending my $200. Why don't you tell me to get the blank in Red (btw - the colored blanks are AMAZING), and then get the Tiagra anodized to match?

You fish on the Yankee with Tom & DaveB?

No problem, Billy, glad to help. Definately get the red blank, but leave the Tiagra alone. Have the guides anodized gold instead Smile.

I try to fish the Yankee with Tom and Dave. Unfortunately, when Dave books a trip, a blow-out is inavitable. Dave, if you're reading this, are you on the two day limited? I'd like to know in advance if I should reschedule Smile.

Poor Dave, I semi-abused him on Allcoast a while back about this same thing. Now you're getting on him here.

I want to get the Acid Rollers Anodized Rde too. I need an all REd whore set up. Maybe I'll wear matching lipstick and heels too.
