MORICHES - Bass 11-9-07

Got a message from Adventure if I could get out one night for some night Bass Eelin'

After a dream like , 2 week from my honeymoon in HI and one Hell week back @ work . I Was ready for some serious cold, wet fall fishin'
-outta work @ 3:30
-stop for eels @ 4:30 (16 on ice)
-to Adventure @ 5pm
-to the water @ 6pm
----------------------------------------------------
-Cold 35, raining - wind was supposed to be 5-15
more like 20-30 @ times E-NE
-dark -to pitch dark out
-water 55-60ish
- high @ 9ish???

water was looking choppy on the way out..so many cans not lite up- made for some slow navigation.

I was unbelievable exciting- have not eeled in 10+++ years. took a few drifts to get some bearings..had some machine gun bites..one eel in half. Blues.
Had a bite but didn't hook em -eel stolen.

1st AD had a run -- then set it--solid like hookin a tree trunk...then it was gone...ouch.

next drift-My line went slack-- thought I hooked the motor as we drifted..reeled in -Fish On..nice feelin on my new Rod.
doubled inhalf. glad I upgunned the reel to a 30 for extra line cap.. nice heavy fish..after a minute the line popped---fish off. I thought the line broke..but the hook was still there..shoot.

Made a few more drifts...nada
made a move into kamakazi runs. 1st run. FISH ON! good size- the line just ran and ran and ran... "You sure you didn't hook the bottom?"--"No" then the bottom ran left...we started to get into some bad water had to boat 'em quick. got em in est 38" -pushing 30lb thick, thick Bass. releasing in great shape. Largest bass to date.

next drift Ad was in - said " it's smaller" --got to the boat saw my red light----zing..he just got bigger..32" released releasing in great shape too.

Hey AD "it just got calmer"..."who's Jack Plamer"
"yes it got Jack Palmer" It's cerntainer Jack Palmer out."

then the rain turned on hard with much wind..mad it tough to fish.. We even had a not so fun Moment....

- a few more shots but were done.

Returned to the dock for trailer repairs @ 1am -
every roller...every one.

Saw Bass crazy swan there picking up and feeding on fillets bass bodies left @ the ramp...interesting.

GREAT NIGHT!!!!!!
Thanks AD.

pd

ps.
$15 Glacier Gloves - didn't live up to there name...cold wet hands all night...stupid gloves.
$60+ HH top was worth every penny..
