The Long Islander Series, M (Medium) model)

Hi,

Received a PM from Aquaholic and he took a 30# striper with his new Medium model of TLIS. He was livelining. Way to go.

So now we have a double digit tog and a 30# striper taken by the Medium model. I am trying my best to catch a double digit fluke on my Medium.

I like the M model up to 8 oz but my friend had to use a 14 oz sinker to hold bottom out in Peconic while fluke fishing. He was using braid and said the rod handled the 14 oz just fine. I just hate using anything heavier than 8 oz sinkers for any kind of fishing.

As the season progresses and I get all the rod orders out of the shop I have new ideas for the series. One is a ML model and I still want to get to the 3 models for kayak fishing. I now have colored grips to go with the nylon thread colors. I have models in 6 1/2' and 7' available. They are $125 and that includes the Sales Tax.

You can contact me for info by PM or calling 631-567-8049.

Have fun fishing!

Capt Neil

About Me
Welcome aboard! Who am I? Well, I guess that depends who you ask. Let's stay within the Noreast Saltwater boundaries. Up till last year I was a partyboat capt serving in various ports around Long Island. Last year I switched to a launch operator for a local yacht club. A great job by the way and lots of fun. I no longer smell like fish and bait, ha. I am also the owner, designer, crafter and sweeper of Custom Fishing Rods by Capt Neil. Nothing finer than catching fish on rods that I crafted. Being a Fishing Rods Forum Moderator, writing articles for Noreast and teaching others how to build their own custom rods rounds out my business hours. When I have time available I like to fish with my friends, any kind of fish. Okay, I do have fluke at the top of the list. Finding fluke where others don't is as important as catching them to me. Taking others fishing, especially ladies and children, helping them to catch and watching the joy it brings them naturally led to being a party boat capt. My party boat experiences have allowed me to work with many young fishermen who became mates. Some of these young mates now own their own party boats and charter boats. It is a great satisfication to see these young captains succeed and I hope that I contributed a little to their success. I am very proud of these captains and those that stayed on deck as mates. Now if I can only find a 10# plus fluke to bite my line! That fluke will be released after a weigh in and pic session.
