MS - H4H charity trip - 7-25-09 H4H - Hope for Hanna trip 7-25-09 Donated a fishing trip to a charity for Hanna Sheperd back in October 2008. Had Rick and JC on board that won the trip. started out @ 8am. for Fluke . Rick was still after a keeper for the year...little did I know it was actully 2yrs since his last keeper..I knew I could find atleast one... Weather looked great for a long day of searching.. ------------------------------------------------------ Wind - zero for most of the day..to S @ 10-15 by 3pm.. Air - HHH- 80-83..warm and bright min. clouds. water ??? 74? High @ 2:40ish ------------------------------------------------------ LONG Day 8am-6pm Hit cedar--first drop fish on in 30 seconds..robins..then some fluke..small. only put in a few drifts and headed to east.. many boats... Many MAny Many birds .. all day from small packs to all out all over up and down the shore..blues busting all day as well..but we were on a fluke mission. had action all Day.. rods bending consistantly..many,many robins and many fluke ..lots of quality 18"-20.875" over the rails. if was robins we would move until it was a mix or mostly fluke..I was surprise that we only picked up a few blues all day. these guys were great couldn't have had been better-they didnt want to stop ...not even for lunch. just about ate with one hand and fished with the other.. Also Nice to see life long friends fishing together. took awhile and many 6-7 just short fish..most 20.75" we finally had a keeper on board by high tide...then 2 more in the next Hour..awesome We got Rick his Keeper and few extra! bite slowed as the wind picked up..but it was welcome as it was warm! they fished until the last pc of spearing was gone..(6 bags) done @ 6pm - nice smooth ride home just under the wind.. a great day for a great cause thanks fellas. ----------------------- total-- combined: too busy to keep count.. 3 Keeper Fluke (21.75", 21.75" , 21.875") 40-60? short fluke - plus one double header 60-90? robins - many double headers.. 3 blues ( 19-23") ----------------------- - late in the day..lost the net overboard..not sure how.. but when we went to land a close fish ...it was interesting..fish was 20.75"...good thing we had the 3 keeper on board already.. - Bird Birds Birds..unreal. - Saw another Maritime..dont see many around....and unpon close inspection -- it wasnt from around here @ all..was a CT boat..hope he's using our regs...it fact a CT Party boat was @ B-9 all day..no fluke it CT?? pd posted by pdspeh69 at 10:01 PM \| 0 comments
