Its been a crazy month…spur of the moment trips, epic battles, victories, losses, long sleep deprived stretches, old friends, new friends … but bottom line is that its been a blast. It all came together Tuesday in a big way as I was preparing to head home for our seminar

Need something to serve your fishing buddies after a chilly day on the water? This recipe uses triple tail, red snapper and shrimp spiced with red chillies and sweetened with mango puree.

My new hobby is checking the 10-day forecast. With the last days of January and the first days of February forecast to be in the mid-30s to mid-40s, every time I look at the forecast it feels like I won a free scratch off ticket

It's hard to make sense out of the weather these days. Here it is the end of January and we finally got our first appreciable snow accumulation: four inches of light and fluffy stuff

After a 5 day stretch of flat calm conditions, the wind is starting to blow again here in Stuart,Florida and its a good thing as I need to get some sleep. When the owner of the Blue Runner, a 60 foot Ritchie Howell, asked me back in August if I had an interest in running his boat this winter in Florida, I weighed the fact that the last few winters were slow for bluefin commercially, but on the other hand, I really wasn't that interested in sailfishing
Jerry Vovcsko 01/16/12
You like to think that whenever you shell out big bucks for an expensive seafood dinner that at least you can be assured of getting the kind of fish that you ordered. Well, don't count on it; that's the conclusion reporters for a major New England newspaper came up with after looking into what goes on in the restaurant industry around the Boston area
Capt. Steve Byrne 01/13/12
Right off the bat, I have to thank noreast.com for giving me the opportunity to write something on a regular basis again
Chris Grech 01/11/12
The Nip N Sip from Loon Outdoors is like a mullet. I'm not talking about the fish, I'm talking about the hairstyle
Jerry Vovcsko 01/10/12
The more I ponder it, the more convinced I am that we anglers pay far too much attention to a few, sexy species and overlook the ones that may seem a bit obscure or even insignificant. Well, by golly, I'm here to say that maybe we need to give some of those poor, ill-treated species another look! Now you take the hoopa-juba fish as a prime example
