The Best of the Best
Our “straight shooter” Products Editor never fails to amaze me. This year he has outdone himself with his recommendations for the “best of the best” in fishing equipment no matter what type of fishing you do. It is a logical presentation of excellent equipment only exceeded by the best equipment for your fishing success. story

Haven't had much of anything to report on the saltwater scene for some time now, maybe even as far back as last fall. But it looks like a little tautog action is beginning to stir in Buzzards Bay and around the Cape Cod Canal
I don't know about you, but I have a serious case of spring fever. It was extremely difficult for me to stay in today to catch up on the things I've put off due to two weeks' worth of fishing trips, but I guess I can be an adult for a day
It's not all that uncommon to hear about poachers operating on the Cape. Certainly the herring runs have seen their share of nefarious characters plying their crooked trade under cover of darkness and many an angler has heard rumors of ethically-challenged persons taking under sized stripers or more than their two-per-angler allotment
Jamaica Bay, with its much heralded Spring striped bass fishery, is beginning to show a little bit of a spring complexion. The various marsh grasses begin to take on a little different hue as daylight begins to stretch its warmth over the water
The Long Island Mushroom Company, Inc. of Cutchogue, abbreviated LIM, is owned and operated by John Quigley and Jane Maguire
Want to start a debate with your fishin' partner?I can tell you a great way to do it. The way I'd have you start this debate might not make much sense to you
The video I've posted below of fishing with a Daiwa Salt Pro Minnow is a reminder to me to keep an open mind and not get too set in my ways. I can tell you the first time I saw one of these plugs I had no interest in it at all because it looked a lot like the other couple of hundred minnow plugs I own from companies such as Bomber, RedFin, Rebel, YoZuri, and others
Anyone that's ever eaten a bad oyster doesn't need to be told how sick these shellfish can make you. And now the Department of Marine Fisheries has announced public hearings on oyster safety plans
I think it's safe to say that everybody loves beef jerky. I sure do
Well it took a while and I won't win any awards for my camera work lol, but here it is none the less. This is my first crack at making a fishing video and I had a lot of fun doing it

New book by Noreast's own John Skinner!

A Season on the Edge chronicles a season of surfcasting from the shores of Long Island. These stories draw the reader into the experiences and the atmosphere of each trip, and are told with a level of detail that presents useful techniques and strategies that can be applied anywhere along the striper coast.
